P.C.P.O.A. Board Meeting Minutes 04/02/2005

 

The meeting was called to order at 4:00pm with the minutes from the prior P.C.P.O.A. board meeting (03/06/05) being reviewed and approved for the record. Board members present were Bruce Philipoom, Brad Redwine, and Joan Gardner. Rhoda Morrell and Jim White were absent.

 

Treasurers’ Report: Joan Gardner presented the report reflecting a bank balance of $7913.46 as of 4/02/05. Current 2005 membership stands at 36. A list was also provided of 16 “historical members” who have not paid the 2005 dues as of 4/2/05. Bruce P. volunteered to send a personal memo to the people on the list requesting their continued support in 2005.

 

2005 Budget: A second draft of the proposed 2005 budget was presented for review. Adjustments were made as follows:

·         Baseline membership reduced to 42 members making the annual budget $4200.00.

·         Entrance lighting changed from an annual expense to a credit balance of $80.00. The credit balance is due to a TECO refund of the prepaid annual fee for the entrance streetlight of $113.00.

·         Postal/printing supplies reduced to $100.00.

·         Improvements reduced to $125.00.

·         Welcome baskets added for $100.00.

 

Additional adjustments may be necessary in order to present a balanced budget to the membership for review and approval at the Spring Social later this month.

 

Street Light Repairs: Brad Redwine reported having advised TECO, on 3/10/05, of street lighting in the neighborhood that needing repair or adjustment.

 

Special Land Use Hearing: Gene Gardner attended the meeting held by Hillsborough County on Friday, 4/1/05, re. a special land use permit establishing a borrow pit on the land at the corner of Pruett Rd. and Kings Way. A letter from Bruce P. was read to the hearing master citing the concerns the P.C.P.O.A. has about granting a permit for this specific type of land use. Our area has more than enough borrow pits currently.

 

Special Lighting District for Pemberton Creek Subdivision: Brad Redwine presented the listing of signatures obtained by Susan and Steve Daily from the residents of Pemberton Creek Subdivision in favor of establishing a special street lighting district. Signatures were obtained from 10 of the 14 property owners (71%). The board will act as petitioner, on behalf of the residents of Pemberton Creek Subdivision, and make a written request to the county asking that a special lighting district be created for this subdivision. The process is expected to take over a year from the initial request to the county to the installation of street lighting by TECO.

 

Spring Social /Business Meeting: Rhoda Morrell, social chairman, and Jackie Haynes have established a date of 4/30/05 for the annual Spring social event, which is being hosted by Anthony and Jackie Haynes. Brad Redwine presented to the board a proposed poster announcing the event. Bruce P. children , Jade and Jasmine, plan to decorate the poster which will be displayed the week of 4/10/05.

 

The business meeting to be held at this event will address the following topics:

·         Presentation of a balanced 2005 Budget for member discussion and approval.

·         Special Lighting District project for Pemberton Creek Subdivision.

·         TECO entrance lighting.

·         Any other business that may be presented.

 

The board meeting adjourned at 5:15pm.

 

The next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, July 24, 2005, at 3:00pm in the home of Joan Gardner.
