P.C.P.O.A. Board Meeting Minutes September 9, 2006

The P.C.P.O.A. Board Meeting began at 3:00pm in the home of Cathy Mitseas. Board members present were Bruce Philipoom, Joan Gardner, Brad Redwine, Cathy Mitseas and Gene Gardner.

Old Business:

The major modification request MM06-124, which was denied by the county,  has resulted in the owner of the property deciding to abandon the intended project and list the property for sale. Additionally, all metal buildings which had been erected prior to any rezoning decisions and were in violation of zoning restrictions,  have been removed.

Quick decisive community action, unified vocal opposition to the rezoning request, and attendance by many at all public hearings were critical success factors in overturning the rezoning request and returning the property to the previously established county/community standards.

The solicitation of new board members for 2007 was discussed. Several past board members have been contacted by current board members about serving next year. Brad Redwine contacted Lisa Brooks, Cathy Mitseas contacted Grace Klein, and Gene Gardner plans to speak with Jim Drapp.

The $75.00 payment previously received from the Morhards along with a contribution of $25.00 from Bruce Philipoom includes the Morhards as paid members in the P.C.P.O.A. for 2006. This choice was voluntary and entirely Bruces’ decision after personally talking with the Morhards.

Treasurers’ Report:

Joan Gardner reported an ending bank balance of $7,788.98 as of 9/09/2006. P.C.P.O.A. membership was reported as being at 42 including the Morehards.

Social Chair Report:

Cathy Mitseas reported that two welcome baskets had been distributed:  6706 Pemberton Oaks Ct. (Joseph Mancusio) and 6708 Pemberton Oaks Ct. Also a donation of $50.00 was made to Life Path Hospice in memory of Cynthia Coppersmith who passed away in July.

New Business:

Cathy Mitseas provided a rough draft of a newsletter for the neighborhood which was reviewed and approved for printing by the board. Cathy Mitseas volunteered to act as editor and format the newsletter. Cathy is to have copies of the newsletter ready the first week of October and Joan Gardner is to handle the mailing to all the residents of the Pemberton Creek neighborhood.

The date of 10/28/2006 as been confirmed for The Fall Social with the hosts, Jim and Cathy Drapp. Brad Redwine will produce a poster for the event and have it on the bulletin board two weeks prior to the event. The newsletter will also contain information on the event which will be distributed the first week of October.
