letter to Ben Kelly, aide to
commissioner Jim Norman.9-1-01
Ben,
I noted that there is are signs posted at the entrance of our neighborhood advertising a "new pemberton creek subdivision with 39 one acre plus lots."
The tract location is directly due east of the current Pemberton Creek subdivision and is accessible of Muck Pond Road and through our Subdivision.
The thing that concerns us is that this property has supposedly been blocked from development due to environmental concerns. This tract has been inactive for several years. Additionally, we cannot find any "official papers" posted at the entrance to the tract indicating approval to develop. The tract is
being offered for sale to the public yet construction of the infrastructure has not started. To date the Pemberton Creek Property Owners Association
has not been contacted by the developer. Could you provide assistance in locating the developer and notify the appropriate county/environmental authorities to assure us that all governmental regulations that been cleared?
We really appreciate you help on this as Pemberton Creek has been subject to massive flooding in the past due to improper drainage in Pemberton and
Baker Creeks (which run through our neighborhood and also the new tract being developed). Hence, we are very concerned that any future development be
fully scrutinized for potential impact on our neighborhood.
Thank you for your help in this matter,
Bill Powell
President
Pemberton Creek Property Owners Association
