03/01/2003 - PCPOA Spring Social and Business Meeting
The PCPOA Spring Social was held March 1, 2003, on the
vacant lot at 6706 Pemberton Estate Court. A good turn out was experienced and
all present enjoyed good food, and neighborly communication.
The PCPOA business meeting was called to order at 4:00pm.
Bill Powell, current president, opened the meeting by
having everyone introduce themselves to the group and tell where they lived in
the neighborhood. It was a good way for all present to be acknowledged and known
to the others present.
Bob Miller, treasurer, presented the treasurers’ report
and passed out for those interested a detailed income and distribution summary.
New board members were solicited for 2003.Only one person
volunteered to help with the social function for 2003 (Rhoda Morrell).
Tom Bolen presented to the group the status of the Pemberton entrance sign. The sign has been restored to like new condition and was voted by all to be reinstalled as soon as possible.
Bill Powell presented to the group a proposal that the board gather information about having all the street signs replaced with some type of unique, county compliant signs. The board is to get information for presentation at the Fall Social.
A proposal was made to have TECO replace the streetlight bulb at the Muck Pond entrance . Bob Miller said he would handle.
Jim White presented information to the group about a public hearing to be held on March 13, 2003 at 7:00pm at the Burdett Middle School. The hearing is being held to give persons an opportunity to express their views about the proposed I-4 Weigh in Motion Stations, specifically for the site proposals between Kingsway overpass and McIntosh Rd. exit #14. The group made a motion which was approved to have the PCPOA oppose the proposed sites.
The business meeting adjourned at 5:00pm.
